We offer a warm, Immanuel welcome absolutely everyone at our services and other events. We serve fresh, fairtrade filter coffee and a selection of teas after most of our services.
Our usual pattern of worship is as follows:
The 'tradition' of worship at Immanuel is Sacramental and Eucharistic - that is, that we place great emphasis on the sacraments - this blog post might help explain what we mean by 'sacrament'; https://corechristianity.com/resource-library/articles/what-is-a-sacrament - the Eucharist (Holy Communion) is really important to us; remembering that Christ is present in the bread and wine and that at the Last Supper he asked that we continue to remember him by sharing bread and wine together. That said, we make our worship relevant and modern; we sing both contemporary worship songs as well as more traditional hymns so we hope that there's something for everyone!
This is our general pattern of worship:
1st Sunday of the month: Refresh@Immanuel - a 'cafe-style' informal service with breakfast available from 9.30am with worship starting at about 10am. At 6.30pm there is a service of Holy Communion, a short, said, service that lasts about 25 minutes
2nd Sunday of the month: Communion for All-Ages. A Communion services with hymns and music, lasting just under an hour.
3rd and 4th Sunday of the month: Holy Communion. A more 'traditional' service of Holy Communion.
4th Sunday of the month: At 6.30pm we have an evening service which lasts for about 20 minutes and is a quiet, meditative service.
5th Sunday of the month: Communion for all-ages
Every Thursday at 9.00am - Communion, Coffee, Croissants; a short, said, Communion service with coffee/tea and pastries after. Morning Prayer is said beforehand at 8.30am; you are welcome to join us for this short time of prayer before Communion at 9am.
On the first Saturday of the month from 8.30am - Breakfast@Immanuel. Everyone is welcome to join us for breakfast. We usually have a guest speaker and time to catch up with each other and meet new people. This is not a service and is generally a 'religion-free zone'.
During the school holidays, the pattern of worship and activities are subject to change. See our Facebook page for full details. During this time, we still meet as a community on Sunday at 10am.
